If you put titles with phrases like "at least" or "must be above", people will understand that you are expecting "must-be-above value". When you set a goal to the bare minimum, you are not only not creating a challenge for yourself, but you also risk bringing down the team's morale.The "least" value isn't challenging. We can assume that the goal is reached before the end of the quarter. Then what? The results are already 100%. So you expect people to keep going. That's hard. The idea behind the OKR's 70% Rule is that you can accomplish 70% of your goal, so 100% is impossible. Therefore, delete the word "least" from the Key Result's Title, and leave the Target Value level higher.<h3 class="indent-1" style="text-align:justify;">Mistake #2: Never say "below" or "maximum."</h3>Sounds simple right? I see most people set their Key Results to something like "Less than 4 customers unsubscribed this quarter" or "Up to 10% of leads unsubscribe our emails."Imagine the following case. For the goal of limiting contract cancellations, at the beginning of the quarter, you are always at 100%. You've only lost 1, 2, or 3 clients during the quarter so far, so that's still a 100% target. Looking at it from that angle, people will think they're doing a good job. And when it came to the last week of the quarter, the fourth customer cancels the contract. So it's all down to 0%.It's terrible, and it's worse if you don't know how to fix the situation. It would be best if you avoided that case at all costs.<h2 style="text-align:justify;">Step 3: Connect Key Results and Objectives into a unified management system</h2>Just one Objective and a few Key Results is not enough.
